Don't worry too much.

As far as using your firstname and husband's surname here in all your transactions, it won't be too much of a problem. I have been using my first name and husband's surname in all my legal documents...be it the bank, NHS card, my council tax, all my work-related papers, my private pension scheme, credit cards, online shopping transactions, etc. But my passport and ILR visa is showing my name as first name - maiden name - husband's surname. Yet everything is falling accordingly so far.

I remember when I got my permanent position in my current job, the HR department of my company just ask me for my marriage licence and passport because all my work documents with them is showing as first name-husband's surname. When they asked about the disparity of the names, I just told them that by Filipino culture, we do take in our maiden names. And that's the end of that, no more further question.

I think you will feel more of this as an issue back home in the Philippines when our culture is too tough when it comes to names on legal documents. Remember those passports being delayed because of errors on names, birthdates, birthplace, civil status, etc..:eek

Don't worry too much about the name. I think as far as identity theft is concern, the hackers are more keen in getting the birth dates rather than the name.8o

Hope I put a bit of light at the end of your query...:lol
